SHE was looking for cheap but chic items to kit out her new kitchen.
So Emily thought she’d try her luck with a shopping haul from Shein, and was left stunned when it arrived.
One of the main homeware items she’d bought was mugs, as she took to TikTok to tell her followers they’re all “on a mug journey together”.
“I honestly cannot get over the ceramics that I’m buying from Shein,” she said.
“This is the type of s**t you buy from Anthropologie for £20 each!”
Emily then held up a gorgeous red and white striped mug, which she called “absolutely adorable”.
“And the little blue one to match,” she said.
“They’re heavy, they’re good quality and these were like £2.50 each.
“You would buy that in Oliver Bonas for £20. I’m obsessed!”
Emily then told her followers that they’re “not ready for this”, as she held up a gorgeous silver mug.
“Is that not the coolest mug you’ve ever seen in your life?” she marvelled.
“It’s a work of art.”
“I’m honestly… oh my God, I love it,” Emily added, as she lifted it up to her mouth.
“I love it so much, I’ve got two!”
The comments section of the TikTok was immediately filled with people weighing in on her mug finds, as one wrote: “Fine.. ‘opens Shein app and searches for mugs’.”
“Omg the silver mug I’m buying that RIGHT NOW,” another added.
“I have that mug but it has jewels on and it’s from Flying Tiger,” a third pointed out.
While others shared a warning “not to microwave” the silver mug, admitted they ended up burning themselves when they did so.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.
And the positive reviews of the £7.55 “ceramic wavy cup” kept on coming on the Shein website.
“Honestly couldn’t be happier,” one chuffed customer wrote.
“It’s even better in real life and I’m just sooo happy I finally got it.”
“The perfect mug!!! Can’t get over it,” another added.
“Love this, such a different style cup,” a third commented.
