WITH a history spanning over two decades and a myriad of panelists coming in and out, it’s no surprise that Loose Women may have a few skeletons in the closet.
From disagreeing over glam teams to clashing on air, there’s been plenty of rumoured feuds between the cast over the years.
On some occasions, stars have even left the show due to disagreeing with their TV counterparts – while others are thought to only appear alongside selected panelists.
Here, we take a look at some of the show’s worst ever rows…
Denise Welch and Janet Street Porter
Janet Street Porter and Denise Welch are both veterans in the world of Loose Women, but haven’t had the smoothest experience with one another.
In fact, back in 2012 it was reported that Denise had asked TV bosses not to put her on the panel at the same time as Janet.
A source said at the time: To say relations between Denise and Janet are frosty would be an understatement. The reality is they really don’t like each other and they probably never will.
“Janet considers herself to be a feminist intellectual while Denise is a salt-of-the-earth northern lass who really enjoys letting her hair down. They have got absolutely nothing in common.
“When Denise heard Janet was joining Loose Women last year she was pretty shocked. The production staff realise this show is all about the chemistry of the panel so they respected her wishes.”
The source further said that Janet wasn’t bothered either way.
However, Denise has buried the hatchet in recent years and the pair HAVE appeared alongside one another on the panel.
During a segment on the talkshow about whether you should stay friends with ex-colleagues in 2023, the pair finally addressed their rocky relationship.
Seemingly confirming the feud, Janet said at the time: “Actually, Denise is talking to me, she never used to.”
“I agree with you but there’s a reason for that. There have been big changes,” replied Denise, as the pair confirmed they are now friends.
The reason for their initial fallout was never officially confirmed.
Carol McGiffin and Andrea McClean
Carol and Andrea appeared perfectly friendly to one another during their crossovers on Loose Women, but it was a wedding snub which ended their relationship.
In 2017, Andrea tied the knot to Nick Feeney, with several of her Loose Women co-stars such as Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson in attendance.
But when Carol didn’t get the invite through the post, it sparked a grudge.
Writing in her Best Magazine column, Carol made it clear she wasn’t on the guestlist: “My old Loose Women mucker Andrea McLean got married last week, so congratulations to her and her new husband Nick. I’m ecstatic for them both, even though I wasn’t invited to the wedding…!”
She even dubbed the situation “embarrassing” as she referenced Andrea’s 2009 wedding to ex-husband Steve Toms.
“She looked radiantly happy, as did he, so it’s all good.
“What’s not good though, is that Andrea’s managed to squeeze in two weddings in less time than I’ve been engaged to Mark, which is a bit embarrassing to say the least!” said Carol, who got engaged to now-husband Mark Cassidy in 2008.
Frankie Bridge and Myleene Klass
While former singer Frankie is a staple on the Loose Women panel, Myleene has previously appeared as a guest panelist on a few occasions.
However, the new entry didn’t bode well with Frankie.
The pair were once good friends, but their feud dates back to Myleene’s split from ex husband Graham Quinn.
At the time of their marriage, Graham worked as a bodyguard for Frankie’s girlband The Saturdays.
Graham and Myleene split in 2013, with the latter revealing last year just how “painful” their break-up was, accusing the bodyguard of being unfaithful and claiming she “had receipts” of his infedelities.
While Myleene has clearly cut ties with her ex, Graham continued to remain friends with Frankie and her bandmate Rochelle Humes.
This has caused severe tensions between Myleene and Frankie, with the former reportedly believing that her friend “chose her side”.
Janet Street Porter and Olivia Attwood
When Olivia Attwood joined the Loose panel in 2023, it seemingly marked a turn of the tide – with the show injecting a youthful new perspective into the panel.
However, the former Love Island star didn’t get the seal of approval from all of her co-stars straight away.
Talking on her podcast, Olivia’s House, the star admitted that she had a few run-ins with Janet in the early days.
She recalled: “So she [Janet] went, ‘Is this your glam team?’ and I went, “‘Yeah’.
“And she went, ‘Well you need them, even when you go to Tesco?’ and I went, ‘Well I’m on telly so I probably will have my glam team.’
“She was like, ‘They’re not standing here.’
“And I said, ‘Janet, I’m sorry. They’ve said they can stand here. They’re standing here’.”
OIivia said that things were smooth sailing following that interaction, but she did need to learn how to deal with Janet.
She explained to guest and fellow panelist GK Barry: “You’ve got to literally look her straight down the barrel and be like, “‘Come on sister, let’s go,’ and then she kind of respects you.
“So, I think my first show with her she… I was just really overly dressed up for Loose [Women] in the beginning.
“Like I look back now and it’s a bit cringe. I looked like I was going to a red carpet. There were a few looks, I was just doing too much for 11 o’clock on a weekday morning.
“And she [Janet] was like, ‘Are you going to get ready or is that what you’re wearing?’
“I can’t remember how I worded it but I was like, ‘I’ll get changed only if you promise to’ or something, but I didn’t know her at all.
“And then one of the producers, Ashley, was like, ‘Yeah, that’s the way to do it.’”
Janet Street Porter and GK Barry
GK Barry, real name Grace Keeling, had a similar experience to Olivia when she joined the chat show last year.
The TiKTok star even said she didn’t speak to Janet for a whopping six months.
During an appearance on Olivia’s podcast, she said: “There’s some panelists I still won’t clap back to [even after a year].
“And I said to them [the team] don’t introduce me to Janet [Street-Porter] for at least six months.”
Saira Khan vs the panel
While Saira has never explicitly revealed who in the Loose Women cast she has issues with, she has previously slammed the show as “toxic” and hinted at feuds.
Saira stepped down from Loose Women in 2021, and said later that year that she was forced to “tolerate” some of her co-stars.
“TV became too toxic. We are paid to be feisty as that’s what makes good telly. I left on my terms,” she said to Platinum Magazine.
“People think you’re best friends with everybody on Loose Women. You’re absolutely not! You have to just tolerate [some people] because you’ve got to get the job done.
“This whole thing about leaving a group or unfollowing somebody, it’s such a big drama. It’s like ‘Guys, get a grip!’”
Saira later claimed that she was put in a box by producers, telling Closer Magazine: “On Loose Women you saw me being quite passionate, heated and feisty, but that’s the silo they put me in.”
“I wanted to have a bit of fun, but that wasn’t for me, that was for Stacey Solomon.
“Stacey [Solomon] was the fun one, but I had to be the loud, gobby one.”
