
A WOMAN was allegedly stabbed in a park in broad daylight as police name a man they are looking for on suspicion of attempted murder.
The victim was rushed to hospital with stab wounds on her hand and torso and is still receiving treatment.
The alleged stabbing occurred on Thursday at 4pm in Carmarthen Park and officers are treating the attack as attempted murder.
Local police have launched an investigation into the reported assault and are seeking James Mckenna, 57.
He is believed to be a Carmarthen local but also has connections to Ireland.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers continue to investigate an attempted murder following an incident in Carmarthen Park between 3pm-4pm yesterday afternoon (29 January). A woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
“Officers are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries and are now appealing for help in locating 57-year-old James McKenna, who is wanted in connection with the incident.
“James is local to the Carmarthen area, but is known to have connections to Ireland. Enquiries with ports and transport hubs have also been undertaken.
“He is described as a white, British male, 5 foot 7 inches tall, bald, with white facial hair.
“If you have any information that could help us locate James, please get in touch via the designated information portal linked below.
“If you see James, please do not approach him, but contact us immediately.”
The cops added that there would be an increased police presence in the area.
