A first look at Mock The Week’s upcoming return sees the comedy line-up roast Brooklyn Beckham – drawing comparison to Prince Harry, jibing the chef and media personality ‘p****d off with his wife to America’.
The popular panel show originally aired on the BBC from 2005 to 2022, but has undergone revival for TLC, returning to screens this week.
Now, viewers have had their first taste of what to expect from the new iteration, which sees Dara Ó Briain return as host, alongside a panel of celebrity guests.
Looking at the recent headlines, discussion will soon turn to the Beckhams’ fallout, which has seen eldest son Brooklyn, 26, warring with his parents, former Spice Girl Victoria and retired footballer David.
In a series of Instagram stories, Brooklyn, who wed billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz in 2022, hit out against his parents for being ‘performative’ through social media.
He accused them of ‘endlessly’ trying to ‘ruin’ his relationship with wife, and hit out against his mother for ‘hijacking’ his planned first dance with Nicola.

Brooklyn claimed Victoria danced ‘very inappropriately’ with him in front of the 500 wedding guests – and forced the couple to later renew their vows.
The record was then set straight by DJ Fat Tony, who last week finally confirmed the exact nature of Victoria Beckham’s ‘inappropriate’ dance with son Brooklyn.
Tony, a longtime friend of the Beckhams, claimed that singer Marc Anthony was to blame, revealing the musician had called Victoria to the dance floor with her son and instructed him, ‘place your hands on your mother’s hips’.
Speaking on last Friday’s episode of ITV‘s This Morning, Tony shared: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!’
Reacting to the news on Mock The Week in a first-look clip, comedian Rhys James jokes: ‘My favourite part of this whole story is that the person that went on the news to sort of expose what the truth is was DJ Fat Tony.
‘That can’t be the arbiter of truth in a national news story. Most people are judged by a select committee or jury of their peers.’
Rhys added: ‘For years we’ve wondered what “zig a zig ah” means and now we know it’s give a lap dance to your first born…’
Actor Ed Byrne adds: ‘Has Brooklyn not essentially given them what they want?

‘They’ve always aspired to be the alternative royal family. They sit on thrones and all that and now their son has p****d off with his wife to America and left the family. You can’t get more royal family than that!’
It comes after Dara opened up on what he won’t miss about the BBC as he revealed bosses controlled what the panel ‘could say about each political party’ on Mock The Week – quipping that they ‘timed’ how long each party had air time.
The TV presenter, who first became the host of the popular news-based panel show in 2005, will soon return to his on-screen role for the first time in four years.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Mock The Week, which came to an end at 2022, would be making a comeback on TLC with new hour-long episodes.
It will be back on screens from Sunday, February 1 – with the likes of Hugh Dennis Rhys James, Sara Pascoe, Ed Byrne, Katherine Ryan and Russell Howard starring as panellists.
The revived show will also see many features from the original format being brought back, including returning rounds such as ‘If this is the answer, what is the question?, ‘Wheel of News’, ‘Picture of the Week’ and ‘Scenes We’d Like to See’.
But comedian Dara, 53, revealed the one element that could be different in the new format – taking a swipe at the BBC in the process, noting the broadcaster won’t be ‘checking for balance’.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Dara explained that while ‘for good or bad, [the show] will feel exactly the same’, the new show would not be ‘timing how much they did on each [political party] for balance.’
Comedian Ed Byrne compared Brooklyn to Prince Harry (pictured with Meghan Markle) and joked the Beckhams’ eldest son had ‘p****d off with his wife to America and left the family’

The popular show will make its return, this time on TLC
He explained: ‘It was always a case of do the thing in the room and then we’ll sort it out later. And Standards and Practice, whatever that department is called, can watch the thing afterwards.
‘Personally, it’s not like, “Oh, finally Dara is off the leash!” What I won’t miss is the people with stopwatches timing how much we did of each [political] party, because you had to have because you had to have BBC balance.’
Nonetheless, despite the broadcaster cancelling the show in 2022, he praised them for giving the stars a ‘victory lap’ after the news was announced.
He added: ‘The BBC, to their eternal credit, gave us a victory lap. We got to sit there in tuxedos and play montages of old panellists and say, “We’ll never see you again”.’
The show’s revival on TLC was first announced in October 2025.
Back in August 2022 it was revealed that Mock The Week was cancelled after 17 years on air in order to ‘create room for new shows’.
The show aired 245 episodes across 21 series before it wrapped up, and saw two teams of three made up of two regular panelists on each, as well as guests.
Some of the main panelists over the years have included controversial comedian Frankie Boyle, 53, Rory Bremner, 65, Hugh Dennis, 63, Russell Howard, 45, Chris Addison, 53, Angela Barnes, 48, and Andy Parsons, 58.
Mock The Week returns on TLC at 9pm on Sunday, February 1
