However, with the score 2-1 to Team Chunkz in the 24th minute, Ribery showed his competitive side to try and force an equaliser.

The 42-year-old picked up the ball on the left wing and dribbled into the penalty area.

He was then faced up by the goalkeeper who had rushed out to try and win the ball.

The Frenchman showed off some quick feet by appearing to cut inside with the ball before quickly going towards the byline and past the outstretched arm of the goalkeeper.

But the outstretched arm prompted Ribery to try and win a penalty after realising his touch was too heavy and it was going out of play.

He went down to the ground claiming he had been clipped by the goalkeeper.

However, the referee was having none of it and waved away the penalty appeal for the goal kick.

Fans on social media were left stunned by the act, and promptly blasted Ribery online.

Despite the dive, Ribery had showed his class with some clever flicks and tricks, including a naughty nutmeg on ex-Real Madrid star Marcelo.

It also did not take Ribery long to score as he made it 4-3 in the 31st minute.

Ribery was once one of world football‘s most deadly wingers and helped Bayern Munich to win the Champions League in 2013.

He was named Globe Soccer Best Footballer of the Year in 2013 and came third in the Ballon d’Or that year, only behind arguably the two greatest players to ever play the sport in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
