Taking to TikTok, Jaya Khosla spilled the beans on how fellow foodies can redeem this perfect afternoon pick-me-up – and it’s a must if you have a sweet tooth.

According to the TikToker, John Lewis offers a free hot drink and cake to new and existing members of their My John Lewis loyalty scheme which you can access via the retailer’s app.

If you don’t have the app yet, fear not, as the process doesn’t take long at all.

Jaya told her 25.7k followers: “All you have to do is download their app, create an account, wait like 20 minutes and then go into Rewards.

“You will see that you can choose from any of their cakes and hot drinks, and they had a lot of options – every single cake imaginable, to be honest,” she said in the video.

Some of the drinks include espresso, Americano, latte and mocha – while for the sweet treat you can choose between rocky road, sticky ginger loaf cake and lemon meringue pie, just to name a few.

“I just got a pot of tea which actually had about three cups of tea in it, which was great.

“Just pop into their cafe and ask if you can scan your QR code in the app,” said Jaya who opted for a mouth-watering six layer chocolate fudge cake.

“It looks like the cake from Matilda. It was really good, it was really rich and creamy and perfect with my cup of tea.

“I’ve been waiting for a deal like this on a sweet treat.”

Unfortunately, as reported by Hot UK Deals, this offer is not available nationwide, with some select stores not participating.

These locations are – Canary Wharf, Horsham, Ipswich and Poole.

Posted just three days ago under the username @jaya.khosla, the video has racked up more than 211k views, with dozens flocking to comments.

One social media user was so excited to treat themselves to a cake, they were already planning a visit to the retailer.

“Just created an account i will visit John Lewis next week..Thanks for letting us know. Glad you enjoyed your cake and tea. I think i will have the chocolate fudge next week.”

“Oooh looks amazing,” another chimed in.

“Thanks, just joined,” someone else wrote.
