It’s always refreshing to see royals rewear their favourite pieces. Despite their vast wardrobes, it’s a reminder that great style is about longevity, not excess.

Princess Beatrice is the latest royal to champion outfit recycling, stepping out in a past-season ME+EM dress she first wore to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in 2024.

Interestingly, she chose to revisit the same design for this year’s event – a clear sign of a true wardrobe favourite

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, also owns this very frock, further cementing its royal seal of approval.

It’s easy to see the appeal. It features a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, elegant pearl buttons and a versatile navy palette, while the frilled trim adds a subtle decorative touch.

It’s the kind of throw-on-and-go piece you can rely on to look polished with minimal effort, which is why investing in a similar style makes sense.

Beatrice’s original dress has long since sold out, but I’ve tracked down close alternatives from Finery, Boden and Hobbs that capture the same timeless feel.

Style yours with chunky ankle boots, just as Beatrice did, or team it with ballet flats or knee-high boots for everyday wear.
