STORM CHANDRA has caused huge disruption to Newcastle United’s preparations for Wednesday’s clash at Paris Saint-Germain.
Eddie Howe’s squad were due to depart the North East for the French capital around midday on Tuesday.
However, the Mags boss and his squad were unable to take off on schedule due to the wet and windy weather conditions.
SunSport understands that after an hour delay, the private club jet eventually took off just after 1pm.
However, the delay has also caused knock-on effects for the rest of the day.
Howe was due to attend his Uefa mandatory pre-match press conference at 4.30pm inside PSG’s Parc des Princes home.
He was then set to be followed by winger Anthony Gordon taking the stage before holding a training session.
Now all three plans have been forced to be pushed back by at least an hour.
Unfortunately for the Mags, and the thousands of supporters also braving the conditions to travel and cheer on their heroes, they will be met with a damp welcome in Paris with downpours forecast for the rest of the day.
Howe’s men will hope the delay does not impact their unbeaten record against the French giants.

The two clubs faced each other in the group stage of the 2023/24 Champions League, with the Magpies bagging themselves a win and a draw.
This time the pair enter the game equal on points in the competition’s league phase, with a win being enough to guarantee Newcastle an automatic spot in the final 16.
