Mel C got emotional as she reflected on 30 years of the Spice Girls and the band’s future in a new interview.
The singer has been busy promoting her 10th solo album but has admitted she will always pine for another Spice Girls reunion, this time with Victoria Beckham included.
A video shared by People.com shows Mel fighting back tears whilst flicking through photos from the band’s 2019 reunion tour with Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell. ‘This last picture actually makes me a feel a little bit emotional. Of all the pictures, isn’t that funny?’ Mel admits.
‘It was the most beautiful experience as a Spice Girl. I think because so much time had passed that we were all very present and really could appreciate what this thing meant to so many people.’
‘It was such a joyous experience. We were just able to take it in for the first time and enjoy every minute. I feel emotional because I’d love to do it again.’
Victoria famously didn’t join her bandmates for the 2019 shows, choosing to focus on her career pivot as an industry-acclaimed fashion designer.
But in recent months she has enjoyed plenty of reunions with the pop group, and notably chose her friends of 30 years to lean on after a tumultuous week with her son Brooklyn Beckham.

On Sunday morning Victoria shared a photo from Emma‘s 50th birthday celebrations which took place on Saturday night at Soho Farmhouse.
Victoria captioned the post: ‘Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul. I love you girls so much.’ Mel B was the only Spice Girl missing from the group snap, which was also shared by Geri.
David Beckham commented on his wife’s post, gushing: ‘This made me so happy. I can only imagine how the spice girls fans feel @spicegirls @victoriabeckham special night celebrating Emma.’
The timing of Emma ‘s intimate 50th party couldn’t have been worse for Victoria, landing as it did just five days after her son Brooklyn’s bombshell allegations about her on social media, but she decided to go ahead with celebrating her friend’s milestone.
On Monday her eldest son Brooklyn, 26, published a scathing six-page statement about his family where he said he has no interest in reconciling with them, including dad David.
Despite once proudly declaring he was a ‘mama’s boy’, Brooklyn focused on Victoria in the statement, with his vitriolic comments reportedly leaving her ‘on the floor in pieces’.
Mel B, whilst missing from Emma’s birthday party, spent her weekend teasing a Spice Girls comeback.
Scary Spice, 50, was seen liking a clip about the band getting back together.

The clip was a segment from the Shouldn’t Laugh But… podcast where host Laura Smyth suggested Victoria could divert attention away from the ‘PR disaster’ of her son’s statement by getting the group back together.
Fans saw Mel B’s like as a signal that there be plans for a Spice Girls reunion in the works after years of rumours.
Speaking directly to Victoria, Laura said in the podcast clip: ‘There is only one way on this earth you will ever come back from this PR disaster.
‘Three words. Spice Girls reunion. It will eclipse it all and I want you there. I don’t want four of them. I want all five.
‘And that is the only way your going to get past this.’
One fan wrote underneath the clip: ‘And Mel B ‘liked’ this (shocked face emoji).’
In the wake of the fallout, Victoria has bagged her first ever solo number one after a huge social media campaign pushed her to the top of the chart.
Victoria’s 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl, a track which showcased Posh Spice’s raunchy dance moves, has shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the UK and Ireland.

The chart positions have been driven by a social media campaign which is determined to ‘fix the national tragedy’ that ‘Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.’
‘Nothing says ‘British Culture’ like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her son roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces,’ reads a viral post on Instagram which has been shared by the likes of Katherine Ryan and Luisa Zissman.
Victoria’s youngest son Cruz also helped with the promo effort, using his mum’s song to soundtrack one of his Instagram Stories on Thursday.
