The Traitors finale kicks off with a bang as Faithful James Baker is eliminated in dramatic roundtable after going head-to-head with Traitor Rachel Duffy

Yet another Faithful was banished on The Traitors on Friday night, as the tense finale finally got underway.

During the final episode of the hit BBC show, James Baker was voted off at an explosive roundtable, leaving the remaining finalists to battle it out after he went head-to-head with Traitor Rachel Duffy.

Standing in front of his fellow players to reveal whether he was a Traitor or a Faithful, James said: ‘It’s been amazing, i’ve learnt a lot about myself, and it’s just been an incredible experience.

He went on: ‘I feel strangely serene right now, what a game, thank you. At the first round table when the blindfolds went on I was selected immediately and have been from the start a Traitful…’

The rest of the players initially jumped for joy, believing they had finally caught another Traitor.

However, James quickly squashed their hopes, confirming he had been a Faithful the entire time.

‘Traitors producers leave us with yet another cliffhanger. It’s had more than Eastenders.’

‘Nahhhhhhhh what a cliffhangerrrrrr!!!!! Brilliant TV – give it all the awards 10/10.’

‘F the BBC ending on that cliffhanger.’

‘#traitorsuk that episode cut had me GAGGED.’

‘#TraitorsUK NOOOOOOO WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT.’

‘Gotta stop with these cliffhangers. They’re not exciting or suspense building, they’re just incredibly annoying. Only thing that lets this show down. #TraitorsUK’

‘Oh my word…’

Stephen didn’t end up voting for fellow Traitor Rachel in the end after sharing his ‘suspicions’ on her.

Elsewhere, Roxy was the latest contestant to be murdered on The Traitors on Thursday night

The recruiter, 32, entertained viewers after epically failing to spot who had the infamous hooded cloaks during her stint in the show.

In her exit speech, Roxy once again proved she was hopeless at the game as she told the camera she would love Rachel Duffy or Stephen Libby to win, mistakenly believing them to be Faithfuls.

Host Claudia Winkleman then revealed Roxy had been hiding a secret – her mother was fellow contestant Judy, 60.

Discussing her murder in the turret, Rachel said: ‘We need to murder Roxy. Murdering her will implicate James very, very nicely. We knew it was coming Stephen.

‘She’s not going to be banished. We’re not going to string her along to the end. We knew we needed to murder her and tonight’s the night.’

After being served her murder letter, Roxy said: ‘I kind of knew it today because I went so hard at the table, I think I was going for the Traitors and I think they know it. But, honestly, I’m so proud of myself for getting this far.

‘I would for Stephen or Rachel to win. I think they’re both amazing people and I think they – hopefully – have been faithful and honest throughout this process but yeah, it’s been a ball.’

At the breakfast table, James was reeling from Roxy’s absence. He asked: ‘How am I so wrong. I’ve been shouting [Roxy and Matt] from the hilltops the whole game.’

Jack replied: ‘It just goes to show how wrong we can all be.’

Fans wrote on X: ‘I can’t believe we’ve been deprived of seeing Roxy in bits on the floor at that fire pit tomorrow night when she realises she’s been played by her besties.’

‘Can we fast forward to #uncloaked to see Roxy realise her winners and most trusted Faithfuls are in fact Traitors.’

‘Roxy is going to get a shock when she finds out who the Traitors are.’

‘I’d like Rachel or Stephen to win. They’ve been Faithful through the process. Roxy is so silly, it’s ridiculous.’

At breakfast, Claudia revealed Roxy’s secret family connection. She said: ‘Do you feel sad for Roxy? Do you know who else will be sad for her? Her mum, Judy.’

The rest of the contestants gasped in shock, with Rachel commenting: ‘We knew there would be a family connection.’

Judy adopted Roxy when she was four-years-old and said it is the best thing she has ever done.

‘She is just an amazing person, inside and out. Don’t ever underestimate her because she is a very strong person as well,’ Judy said.

Opening up ahead of her appearance, Roxy shared that the first six years of her life were rocky, but she hoped her life experience could have got her far in the competition.

She said: ‘The first six years of my life were a little rocky, and I think having that lived experience of adapting to different situations, meeting different people, figuring out who to trust, I thought those skills that have come from unfortunate circumstances, would actually take me really far on the show.’
