UFC star Cameron Smotherman worryingly collapsed after making weight for his bout on the undercard of UFC 324.
The Bantamweight prospect was walking off stage after his weigh-in ahead of the Las Vegas event when he suddenly collapsed to the floor.
The 28-year-old quickly received medical attention from staff, and was subsequently pictured sitting up surrounded by medical personnel.
Smotherman was set to face fellow American Ricky Turcios in the early preliminaries at Sunday’s event.
But his participation in the fight is in doubt following the scary incident.
The moment has generated concern that the collapse could stem from the fighter’s weight cut, a process in which fighters attempt to drastically cut their weight in order to make the limits of their fight’s weight class, which can include dehydrating themselves.
The ‘Baby-faced killer,’ as Smotherman is known, currently holds a professional record of 12 wins and six losses.
But Sunday’s event was set to be one of his biggest opportunities yet, fighting on an anticipated card at the T-Mobile arena.
Liverpool-based UFC fan-favourite Paddy Pimblett is headlining the card as he challenges for the lightweight interim title.
He faces competition from American UFC veteran Justin Gaethje.
Also competing on the card is colourful character ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley.
The No3-ranked bantamweight will face China’s Song Yadong as he looks to construct a title challenge.
