A MUM set up her ex-husband by revealing his location to a drug dealer before he was murdered in an acid attack, a court heard.
Dad-of-two Danny Cahalane was rushed to hospital after he was allegedly targeted by two men at his home in Plymouth, Devon, last February.
He could not be saved and died from his “horrific” injuries on May 3, 2025.
His ex-wife Paris Wilson, 35, has gone on trial with nine others over the horror including co-accused Jenna Said, 39.
The court heard Danny was “middle management” in a drug-dealing operation and owed Ryan Kennedy – known as Frost – £120,000.
Following her split from Danny, Wilson allegedly became a “go-to constant” for Frost as he plotted to get his money back, it was said.
Prosecutor Joanne Martin KC said she would reveal his location to the drug dealer on the understanding he would “make her wealthy”.
Jurors heard this was despite Wilson knowing that Frost was a “threat” to Danny, who she shared a child with.
Ms Martin said Wilson set Danny up because she would get paid a couple of thousand pounds and “because Danny deserved to be hurt”.
On on occasion, Frost had contacted Wilson saying “get that bum to call me, he is dead”.
Jurors were told Danny had got into debt with Frost originally after he gambled with profits from the drug-dealing operation.
Ms Martin said: “That left, in Danny’s words, Danny in the s***. He told police he was in significant debt and he tried to organise a repayment plan but it didn’t work.”
The court heard the month before he was attacked, Frost messaged Danny telling him: “You’re gonna die, you just need to die. You’ve done me £80k. I’m going to give them 40k extra to take the eyes out of your head.”
Danny replied: ‘You’re talking about switching me off. I have 46 covered. Sorting for you. Been long.”
Over the next two days, Frost allegedly continued to message the victim and send him threats.
On January 18, he messaged again saying: “I’m just paying someone the bill to get you done. On my life, I ain’t messaging you again, I’ll find you by tomorrow.”
The prosecutor said Frost had become “incensed” at Danny’s “stalling” and failure to repay the money and organised a kidnap attempt on January 19 2025.
Jurors heard three men confronted Danny and tried to open his car door – causing him to flee.
The dad was described by witnesses as as looking “wide eyed” and terrified.
After that plan failed, Frost messaged him saying: “Close call? Mate I’m telling you they gonna burn gaffes down and your gonna die”.
On February 21 last year, jurors heard two men broke into Danny’s home and attacked him with sulphuric acid – burning his entire body.
He was rushed to hospital but died ten weeks later from his “horrific” injuries, it was said.
Ms Martin said: “There can be no doubt that Mr Cahalane was murdered, whoever threw acid over him must have intended to at the very least cause him really serious bodily harm.”
Wilson denies murder, participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, attempted kidnap, attempt grievous bodily harm with intent and manslaughter.
Said, 39, is charged with participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, while Jude Hill denies murder and manslaughter.
Augustus 25, denies murder, manslaughter and participating in an organised crime group along with Isanah Sungum, 21.
Jean Mukuna, 23, denies is charged with participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, attempted kidnapping and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent along with Arrone Mukuna, 24.
Abdul-Rasheed Adedoja, 22, denies murder, manslaughter, participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, attempted kidnapping and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
Ramarnee Bakas-Sithole, 22, has pleaded not guilty to the same charges.

The trial continues.
