DAVID and Victoria Beckham put Nicola Peltz’s parents’ noses out of joint with a major mis-step before their son’s wedding, according to reports.
The superstar couple, who have cultivated a £500m business empire from humble beginnings, found themselves in the rare position of being the less wealthy side of the partnership when they met Nicola’s billionaire parents Nelson and Claudia.
And they seemed to forget this detail when they visited the Peltz’s £76m Palm Beach mansion for the first time in July 2020, after the first coronavirus restrictions had lifted.
According to the Mail, the understandably security conscious Beckhams didn’t drop their guard even for the important family get together.
A source said: “When they first went to the Peltz house, the Beckhams sent their security team in advance to sweep the place.
“It’s standard procedure when you are a couple with that level of fame, but it did not go down well with the Peltz family. They have their own security, of course, and naturally it is the best that money can buy, so there was no need for their visitors to do this. It raised eyebrows.

“The feeling was that the Beckhams were somehow saying they were more important than the Peltzes. It was a simple mis-step, but a bad start.”
The Sun has contacted a representative for the Beckhams for comment.
Relations didn’t get any warmer as the two sides allegedly clashed over the number of ceremonies the couple should have.
The Beckhams are said to have wanted two – one in America and the second at their Cotswolds country bolt hole where Brooklyn celebrated his 21st birthday.
While the traditional Peltzes only wanted the one at their sprawling Florida home, which would be overseen by party-planner extraordinaire Claudia.
The Peltzes ultimately won out and the mansion was the backdrop to the sole big day.
The latest on Brooklyn’s seismic statement…
This week, Brooklyn lifted the lid on his real feelings about the wedding in a bombshell statement that rocked the world.
In it, he claims his mum branded him “evil” due to his desire to seat his nanny Sandra and Nicola’s late Naunni on his top table in light of them both being widows.
More shockingly, he then said he felt mortified when Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola and danced “inappropriately” on him in front of their 500 guests.
There have been reports she “grinded” on him and the claims have been turned into countless online memes that have left Victoria “devastated”.
In addition, Brooklyn claimed Victoria withdrew her wedding dress design from Nicola at the 11th hour, though this point has been contradicted by Nicola’s dress designer Leslie Fremar.
Speaking to Vogue, the fashionista claimed the custom frock was a year in the making – including two fittings with Nicola in the US.
Prior to this, Leslie told how she had been to Valentino’s headquarters in Rome twice herself to oversee the design.
Hailing the dress, she said: “It was the ultimate couture experience. The simplicity of it was magnificent.
“We didn’t have to overly detail the dress to accomplish the magnitude of it, so we ended up eliminating the embroidery.”
When quizzed at the time over why she suddenly changed plans, Nicola said Victoria’s atelier wasn’t going to be able to finish it in time.
And in an interview with The Sunday Times, she downplayed the idea of a “family feud”.
Nicola said: “It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, ‘feud, feud, feud’.
“I don’t know why they say feud. I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it feud? No family is perfect!”
The American actress later revealed she was ghosted by her mother-in-law over the dress.
Brooklyn, who has been in the spotlight his whole life, accused his mum of “consistently disrespecting” Nicola since they started dating in 2019.
He claimed Victoria would repeatedly invite women from his past back into their lives – intended to cause major issues.
But it remains unclear who Brooklyn was referring to in the statement.
The statement said: “My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one.
“My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”
Brooklyn also levelled accusations at his dad, including claiming David refused to meet him if Nicola would be there too.
He said: “We still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him.
“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.
“When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”
Brooklyn went on to accuse his family of becoming more obsessed with their loving image than their actual relationships with each other.
He explained: “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.
“Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op…
“… even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”
But sources close to the Beckhams claimed tensions have left Victoria heartbroken.
And, the Beckhams were reportedly gobsmacked when they only learnt of their son’s vow renewal via social media.
None of the family were invited to the lavish ceremony and a source told us at the time: “This was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria.”
The Beckhams will be in a tailspin – here’s why there is no going back
By Ellie Henman
Brooklyn Beckham has delivered what can only be described as the single most damaging blow ever to David and Victoria Beckham, albeit the whole Beckham family, with that explosive statement. But where do the family go from here?
Victoria and David are very much never complain, never explain. They are very much like the Royals in that sense. They will be in an absolute tailspin this morning because this is so damaging. This is a brand, this is a family unit they have built. They love their children dearly. They’ve always protected their happiness and tried to protect their privacy as much as possible. This has just blown every single thing apart.
Do I think the Beckhams are going to come out and say anything? No, I don’t. I think they’re going to say nothing. But I think one thing we can guarantee is there is definitely no going back now.
I think Brooklyn doesn’t want to go back. I think David and Victoria were always really open to reconciliation and I believe they probably still are. But this is so incredibly hurtful of Brooklyn to do so publicly.
Every single time I see an Instagram post by Brooklyn, his followers comment saying: ‘Call your parents!’ I wonder now if those people might have changed their minds and may be backing Brooklyn a bit more? Or are people are still going to be team Victoria and David?
It’s a tough one, but this is explosive and I actually still cannot believe what has happened.
