ASTON Villa are considering a loan move for AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 29.
Boubacar Kamara’s knee injury has written him off for the rest of the season which could force the club to act.
Kamara, 26, has been a regular for Villa, making 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
The French midfielder’s injury was picked up during his side’s 2-1 FA Cup third round win at Tottenham on January 10.
But he has struggled with injuries since his free transfer from Marseille in 2022, including tearing his ACL in August 2024.
Loftus-Cheek has played in all but two of Milan’s 21 Serie A games this season – only starting nine of them.
AC Milan currently sit in second with 46 points, three points behind rivals Inter Milan.
Since his move from Chelsea in 2023, Loftus-Cheek has made 90 appearances for Milan and scored 11 goals.
Thomas Tuchel, his former manager, even recalled him to the England squad for the first time in seven years last September.
Though the Chelsea academy graduate only played once in a 3-0 victory against Wales during international friendlies.

The versatile midfielder was then on the bench or not included in the squad for the subsequent World Cup qualifiers.
Though Loftus-Cheek is a different type of player to Kamara, his Premier League experience and natural ability make powerful runs suggests he would not take long to settle back in England.

Unai Emery could mould the midfield around Loftus-Cheek’s drive as Youri Tielemans, Lamare Bogarde, and Amadou Onana, who is set to return, could play in a deeper role.
Emery’s side are third in the Premier League, trailing Arsenal by seven points.
Villa have been forced into the loan market for a midfielder after injuries to Kamara, Onana and Ross Barkley.
They were also interested in snapping up Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid before Tottenham beat them to it.
