Amir Khan has warned couples not to get married at his multi-million-pound wedding venue as he takes legal action against his business partner.
Khan claimed on X today that Mohammad Jaberansari, the director of ‘The Balmayna’ in Bolton, has not paid any rent for the last three years and is running the venue without a working main lift.
It is the latest woe faced by the Olympic boxing star relating to the £11.5million property, which hosted its first marriage after a series of hitches in May 2024.
The Balmayna – which translates as ‘enamelled’ in Arabic – features a waterfall, illuminated trees, and a river weaving its way through the floor.
But the venue, a post-career business venture for the former world champion, sits next door to an auto body shop and car wash in the heart of Bolton.
And back in January of 2024, it was surrounded by heaps of junk, including broken fridges, settees and dirty mattresses.
Khan previously announced that he was putting the property up for sale claiming he did not know how to run it, before changing his mind a few months later after a reported uptake in bookings.
Khan today took to X to warn potential customers against booking the venue due to the risk of losing their money.
He also claimed that Mr Jaberansari had also violated regulations by using the upper floors for events without the main lift being installed.

Khan said in a statement on X this morning: We advise anyone who has booked the wedding to hold off until this issue is resolved, as I would not want you to risk losing your money or deposits
Khan said: ‘We advise anyone who has booked the wedding to hold off until this issue is resolved, as I would not want you to risk losing your money or deposits.’
The Balmayna Management hit back, saying: ‘To be absolutely clear, Amir Khan has no involvement whatsoever in the ownership, management, or operation of Balmayna.
‘The matter being referred to publicly relates solely to a private landlord-tenant issue, which is being addressed through the appropriate legal and professional channels.
‘Certain recent comments circulating online are misinformed, baseless, and should be disregarded.
‘Alhamdulillah, rather than being affected by such commentary, the Balmayna Group continues to grow stronger, more stable, and more successful.
‘We do not allow malicious or defamatory remarks to distract us from our responsibilities, and we will not engage in public disputes or online speculation. We believe firmly in handling matters lawfully, professionally, and privately.
‘We would like to reassure all clients that there is absolutely no impact on confirmed bookings, events, or deposits. Balmayna remains fully operational, financially secure, and committed to delivering the exceptionally high standards for which we are known.
‘Our priority has always been – and will always remain – our clients and their once-in-a-lifetime celebrations. We will continue to deliver the magical events and experiences our clients trust us with.’

The Balmayna management team says: ‘It remains one of the UK’s largest wedding venue operators, with a long track record of hosting thousands of events and operating the Midlands’ largest wedding venue complex’
They claim: ‘Amir Khan has no involvement whatsoever in the ownership, management, or operation of Balmayna’
The firm told the Daily Mail it is one of Britain’s largest wedding venue operators, running one in the Midlands and currently developing another one in Stoke-on-Trent.
Videos from the venues first marriage in May 2024 showed guests being serenaded by violins in front of palm trees and eating fruit canapés served by staff in bow ties, as they watched the bride arrive on a horse-drawn carriage and the groom in a Rolls Royce.
The former boxer also previously insisted he was ‘getting good rent’ from the business but wanted to hand the property over to someone else and focus on other projects.
In August 2024 he put the venue up for sale, saying he did not know how to run it.
He then had a change of mind last year and took it off the market.
‘I’ll be honest, the wedding venue is doing so well and bringing in so much money that I don’t want to sell it now’ he told Betway.
‘Also, it looks so nice, and it makes me happy that I’ve given 150 jobs to people in Bolton. I’m putting food on people’s plates and am looking after their livelihood, so it makes me happy that 150 people are working, getting a wage and working in a job.’
