NATHAN ASPINALL has revealed how he overcooked his preparation for the Saudi Darts Masters.
The Asp has been out in the Middle East since arriving for the Bahrain Darts Masters, where he made the semi-finals before being defeated 7-4 by Gian van Veen.
He was then back in action last night in the first round of the Saudi Darts Masters in Riyadh.
There he took on and beat Lourence Ilagan 6-1, averaging 100.93 in an impressive display.
And his hot darts hand has been accompanied by hot weather.
However, by his own admission Aspinall “overdid it” as he soaked in the sun a little too much.
Following his win over Ilagan, the 34-year-old said: “It’s been 25 degrees.
“Lovely. I have not played since Bahrain. We got here on Sunday.
“Spent the day around the pool. Got burnt. Then tipped up to the venue today.
“It’s my first time out in Saudi Arabia.

“You can tell by the colour of me that I have had a day around the pool. I burnt myself a bit.”

The Stockport darts ace is back in action against Man Lok Leung in the quarter finals.
Leung upset the odds by stunning Danny Noppert 6-3.
The winner of the Aspinall – Leung will take home at least £10,000 in prize money due to appearing in the semi-final, with the loser taking home £5,000 for their quarter-final showing.
The eventual champion of the tournament will pocket £30,000 in winnings.
