GABRIEL JESUS is one of just seven Arsenal players who knows how to win a championship. But he’s the only one who has done it in the Premier League.
Yet the Brazilian forward has revealed he has not just been talking to Mikel Arteta’s inexperienced squad on what it takes to finally get over the line.
Jesus has admitted he has been speaking to struggling striker Viktor Gyokeres as he looks to kickstart a disastrous start to his Arsenal career after scoring just eight times since his £63.5million summer move from Sporting Lisbon.
Jesus, who won four titles with Manchester City, also believes Arsenal remain a major threat in the Champions League as they look to continue their incredible 100 per cent record in the competition against Inter.
A £45million signing from City in 2022, Jesus said: “Unfortunately, the last three seasons at Arsenal, we finished in second.
“But we, we are in good shape, we are happy that we are in the position that we are generally winning games even though we have drawn the last two.
“We are talking about the Premier League – it’s hard. Have you seen the last round of results? Every single team that is up there lost points. So it’s the Premier League and this happens.
“The times I was at City and I won there, the only time we did not drop a lot of points was when we got over 100. I tell the players this.”
So what about Gyokeres? After scoring against Chelsea, he once again struggled in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest and surely, Jesus, 28, will start at the San Siro.
Jesus, who returned to action last month after suffering an ACL injury a year ago, said: “Vik is an amazing guy, you know. Unfortunately, when he came, I wasn’t there because I was injured and I was doing my rehab in Brazil with my family.

“I had a newborn there and stuff but since I came back, you know, we have good relations. We talk about football, obviously.
“We are virtually the same age. And then, obviously, I have played here in the Premier League longer than him.
“I have given him my opinion, about goals, about stuff. He knows he’s a top striker, he scored a lot of goals at his previous club. I’m sure that he’s going to find a way to do the same for us because this is good for us.
“I’m so happy that I am back. I had the toughest injury in my life, 11 months. And then just to come back the way I come back, I’m so glad.
“And then, obviously, I have been in the position that Vik is now. And then it’s not easy. But I’m sure that everyone here, not only the coaches and staff, the players as well, are going to support him and give him the belief that he’s here to help us.
“I think in a club like Arsenal, big like this, there is no guaranteeing a spot to anyone. So we’re all here to help Arsenal to try to win games and at the end of the season win trophies.”
Last season, Inter lost 1-0 to Inter in the group stage but lost in the semi-finals. Asked if the club could now win the competition, Jesus smiled. He added: “We have to believe, otherwise, why are we here? I think we are in a brilliant position.”
Jesus also revealed he wants to sign a new contract at Arsenal with his current deal running out at the end of the season.
He said: “My first target is to be healthy. This is my fourth season at Arsenal and I have played one-and-a-half, two seasons and then the rest with injuries.
“It never happened to me before, but it happens here. I don’t know why. My first target is to be healthy from now till the end of the season.
“My wish is to stay at Arsenal. Obviously, if you ask me, I want to extend my contract. I want to stay. I want to win trophies with Arsenal because I come here with a purpose and that’s it.”
Arsenal will make history with trip to Inter Milan as they prepare to become the first top flight team in England to play four successive away games in four different competitions.
Gunners boss Arteta, asked about the travelling, said: “This is the first time this has happened, no? We have to adapt to the games.
“That’s the beauty of playing in different competitions and being in the latest stages of those in all of them and that’s what we want.
“So I think that’s a blessing, that’s something really, really positive and now we have the last one before we play at home again against Manchester United.”
