ELLIE ROEBUCK was left with a gruesome injury after a kick to the face during an FA Cup clash.
The Aston Villa and England goalkeeper took a whack from Arsenal’s Stina Blackstenius that left her wounded and needing treatment.
But the 26-year-old dusted herself down and kept playing after the incident – a move that grabbed her plenty praise online.
One person wrote: “Legit resilience, she’s a total boss.”
Another posted: “Wow, what a brave and resilient performance from Ellie Roebuck!.”
A further punter commented: “Straight-up warrior queen out there. Took a boot straight to the face, dusted herself off like it was nothing, and kept commanding that goal like the absolute boss she is. Up the Villans”
The praise didn’t stop there with another post reading: “Great keeper.”
The incident involving Roebuck happened with just seconds of the opening 45 minutes remaining.
As she bravely collected the ball at the feet of onrushing Blackstenius, she caught her rival with a trailing boot.
Arsenal managed to find two goals in the second half to book safe passage into the next stage with a 2-0 win.

Blackstenius fired the opener seven minutes into the second period before Kim Little added a second just after the hour.
Villa return to league action next weekend when they host Manchester United.
They currently sit mid table in sixth spot in the Women’s Super League.
Victory over United would close the gap on the team directly above them in fifth to just three points.
