GAZ Beadle has dubbed his girlfriend Maia Ellen “inspirational” and revealed that the 24-year-old nurse has “grounded” him.
The Geordie Shore star, 37, split from his wife Emma McVey – whom he shares two children with – in 2023 and went public with Maia, 24, the following year.
He has recently made a return to Geordie Shore after eight years away, but says Maia won’t follow him into a reality TV career.
“She won’t come onto the show because she’s got her own, like she’s worked hard to go to uni, get qualified and she’s a nurse.
“It’s amazing and she loves that job – she’s in a totally different world and I wouldn’t want to ever jeopardise that as well.
“It’s not the most professional thing, is it?”
Gaz continued to praise Maia, explaining: “I like how she’s got a normal job. Like, she got in at 8 o’clock this morning after leaving at half past 7 last night… 13 hours. She’s doing it again tonight, it’s inspirational.
“It almost brings me down a peg and I think that’s why I’m getting more normal and normal.
“I just love to pop to the pub for a bit of food and a walk with the dog, cutting the grass, like, I’ve become quite a normal boring person.”
He joked: “If you did a reality show about my life it would be, ‘Gaz does the dishes and cuts the grass. Gaz goes to golf. Gaz comes back from golf.’ How times have changed!”
Gaz went public with Maia in the summer of 2024 and lauded her for graduating from her Uni degree last December.
He was with ex Emma for eight years, marrying in 2021 but splitting from the model just two years later.
The couple now co-parent their two children; a son named Chester, who is eight this week, and daughter Primrose, six.
At the time of their split, Gaz said: “We are still friends. There is no bad blood or anything and we have worked out the best way of doing it for the kids, which for me and Emma is always going to be the most important thing.
“We both deserve to be happy as well as being parents.”
After starting a relationship with Emma, Gaz turned his back on reality TV to focus on family life,
However, he has now returned to Geordie Shore for a new season in Portugal, following eight years off.
But assuring fans won’t be seeing the dad-of-two on boozy nights out, Gaz says this TV stint will show the “real” him.
“I didn’t get drunk once while filming,” he admitted.
Gaz continued: “I was like, ‘look, I’ve not going on there getting smashed every night, because I don’t do that in real life so I’m not gonna do it there.”
Series 26 of Geordie Shore, which sees the cast in Portugal is now out on Paramount+ and MTV.
