A BOARDED-UP McDonald’s overrun with drug addicts and plagued by violence could be the world’s most dangerous branch.
The restaurant in downtown Seattle has been nicknamed “McScabby’s” as customers raise the alarm on the crime hotspot.
TripAdvisor reviews warn others to “stay away”, citing drug deals going on inside and directly outside the premises and a security guard who “turns a blind eye”.
One horrified customer wrote: “This place is boarded up with graffiti all over it. Not kidding … Scary, bad people all around in the evening.”
Another said: “Homeless folks there constantly begging for change both inside and outside of the restaurant, folks using drugs inside the bathrooms, drug deals going on inside and just outside this location.”
One even said the experience had put them off the chain completely.
They fumed: “This is probably the very last place in Downtown I would eat at, and most likely the last McDonalds I would ever go to.
“The collection of drug dealers and gang problems at the corner and along 3rd ave is just not worth a visit.”
Diners cannot walk through a door and sit in the restaurant to eat, and plexiglass separates the cashier from paying customers, as reported by The Mail.
Those craving a hamburger or milkshake can only approach a hatch to collect their order.
The McDonald’s branch is situated in an area that has been plagued with crime in recent years.
One woman, 50, was killed and seven others left injured following a January 2020 mass shooting near the restaurant.
A nine-year-old boy was among those injured.
He was caught up in the gunfire while walking with his family following a trip to a science museum.
In June 2023, William Tolliver was sentenced to four years in prison over the shooting.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and third-degree assault.
He also pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
And, in February 2024, Christopher Burns said his partner, Matthew, was stabbed in the head outside the restaurant while they were waiting for their order, as reported by the ABC affiliate KOMO-TV.
The alleged stabbing happened after a man reportedly kicked their dog.
And, Burns said his partner, 29, nearly passed out following the alleged ambush.
A worker told The Mail they had witnessed assaults outside the restaurant.
The Sun has approached McDonald’s for comment.
