LOVE Island: All Stars fans have been left shocked at Charlie Frederick’s transformation as he returned to the ITV2 villa this evening.
The personal trainer, 31, first appeared on the show in 2018, and has undergone quite the switch-up when it comes to his looks.
Charlie only lasted five days in the villa during his first stint, coupling up with scouse beauty Hayley Hughes on the show, which quickly fizzled out.
At the time, the fresh-faced 23-year-old had longer blonde hair, was clean shaven and no tattoos.
But these days, muscular Charlie has shaved his light locks into a skinhead, has a beard and is inked across both arms – looking a far cry from his last TV appearance.
Fans couldn’t quite believe the transformation, as many took to X while the show was on to share their shock – with some not recognising the star.
“Still cant get over how much Charlie has changed, like 8 years has gave him a crazy glow up #LoveIsland,” wrote one user.
A second user shared: “Charlie might have had the best love island glow up #LoveIsland”
Another said: “Didn’t even recognise Charlie at first and I was deffo watching series 4”.
While it’s been a while since Charlie was last in the villa, it’s been even longer since he last saw co-star Helena Ford.
In a twist of fate, the pair actually grew up nearby each other and knew one another as teens – and weren’t so close.
Charlie appeared on the show seven years before Helena, who was a Love Island fan prior to her appearance.
But watching the show and recognising Charlie, she tweeted at the time: “Nah that Charlie Fredrick kid got my 16th party closed down, said I looked like a dolphin”.
After the tweet resurfaced, a source told The Sun that while the pair did know each other several years ago, Helena couldn’t remember the ins and outs of their apparent feud.
However, she was quick to bring it up after entering the villa – telling their co-stars how Charlie had said she “looked like a dolphin”.
Defending himself, Charlie admitted he couldn’t remember it, but apologised to Helena for any hurt caused.
If their awkward interaction wasn’t bad enough, Charlie and Helena will be sharing a bed in the villa after the public coupled them together.
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
