The Traitors’ deadly gamble pays off as Adam is the latest Faithful to be murdered as James’ lie over landing a shield sparks backlash

The Traitors‘ deadly gamble paid off in Thursday’s episode, as Adam became the latest faithful to be murdered.

Rachel and Stephen were forced to commit a risky move in the turret as they deliberated whether Adam, James or Jessie had missed out on a shield during the mission.

The pair shared their fears that if they picked someone with a shield, it could turn attention to them when they turned up to breakfast unharmed.

And despite even Stephen confessing they only had a ‘33%’ chance of getting it right, he and Rachel picked Adam, and it turned out to be the right move.

Receiving his deadly letter, Adam moaned that as a ghost-hunter, he’d now become one of the spirits himself.

His death also sparked backlash towards James, who had lied about getting a shield during the previous day’s mission.

The previous day, James confessed he’d lied to the other players about getting a shield in the mission, with even viewers claiming he was ‘more of a traitor than the traitors themselves.’

They posted on X: ‘Oh James. Your dirty little cheater. ”The money is irrelevant if you’re going to be murdered.” He’s more of a traitor than the actual traitors.’

‘Lowkey obsessed with James creating random side chaos by secretly stealing a shield for himself!;’

‘Haha safe to say James would be an awful Traitor, can’t even lie about the shield lmao.’

It came after Harriet had become the latest faithful to be banished in Wednesday’s episode.

Speaking following her banishment, Harriet told The Sun: ‘On the one hand, I’m gutted not to have got further.

‘I haven’t won therefore I’ve lost so it’s hard not to see it that way.

‘But on the other hand, I could not have asked for more action! I managed to find a way of fighting as myself and leaving on my own terms and I really don’t think many other people who’ve been through the game can say that.

‘If I were to swap with being there in the final but being duped, I’d take my short-lived game any day.’

During Wednesday’s episode, Harriet had declared she was ‘coming’ for villain Rachel after revealing her true identity.

When it came to the roundtable, Harriet remarked at Rachel with a smirk on her face: ‘You look amazing tonight Rachel. I’d say dressed to kill.’

Using her skills as a former barrister, Harriet laid out her evidence and claimed Rachel has been ‘in character’ since the blindfold came off at the first roundtable.

But, to her surprise, Rachel had a secret of her own that appeared to get contestants on her side.

She explained: ‘For the past few months, I have been trained by a former FBI agent on the beauty of micro expressions and people’s ability to lie. I have profiled every single one of you, and if that makes me a bad Faithful or distrustful I’m really sorry. I’m trying to play a good game.’

Harriet could see the discussion was not going in her favour, and she asked the group to vote her out so that she could prove her Faithful status, which they did.
