THE real reason for Nicola Peltz’s drastic weight loss has been revealed as she lands her first major movie role of the year.
The 31-year-old star has bagged herself a part in upcoming Hollywood flick Prima alongside Oscar award-winner, Faye Dunaway.
Nicola will play the leading role in the film as a ballerina and it is her preparation for this performance that has been the reason behind her recent weight loss.
In order to get into character as Margot, Nicola has been forced onto a strict diet.
Nicola undertook four months of intense ballet training for the role which has seen her lose weight to fall under 100lbs.
She has been hitting the gym and undergoing ballet training in order to look the part ahead of filming later this year.
The actress dedicated herself to losing the weight of her own accord and ruled out any use of fat jabs such as Ozempic or Mounjaro in order to achieve the desired figure.
A source said: “Nicola was committed to getting things exactly right for this role and it just proves her determination and dedication.
“It is a huge opportunity for her in Hollywood and so she has pulled out all the stops.
“There was also no way she was ever going to use the fat jab and so she’s done the work all herself.
“There had been speculation about why she had been losing weight, especially given the recent events in her personal life but now everything makes perfect sense.”
Nicola has been locked in a family feud with husband Brooklyn’s family since the start of 2025 with some fearing her weight loss could have been linked to the stress of the feud but the announcement of her movie role has put such speculation to bed.
In the flick, award-winner Faye will play her grandmother who has dedicated her life to training Margot (Nicola) to be an exquisite ballerina.
But a power struggle soon ensures in the family once the head of the ballet company marries a contemporary choreographer throwing everything into chaos.
A synopsis teases further: “As events unfold, Margo begins to question if the choices made in life are really worth it in the end, a question so many face as difficult decisions can change your life.”
The movie marks a huge move for Nicola who last appeared in the 2024 film, Lola.
It will be her first major acting role since the emergence of the Beckham fued.
The Sun revealed last week that Brooklyn had sent his parents a legal notice warning they can only contact him via lawyers.
It comes after both he and Nicola opted to unfollow the rest of the Beckham family in a telling move.
Brooklyn and Nicola blocked David and Victoria in an apparent bid to cut all public contact, after Victoria liked one of Brooklyn’s cooking videos.
The blocking followed ‘weeks of frustration’ from Brooklyn and Nicola — who believe their requests for a private family reconciliation were ignored.
California-living Brooklyn has however remained in contact with both sets of his grandparents, including David’s parents Ted and Sandra Beckham.
