She’s recorded a new jingle that humorously addresses her well-known mix-up from her early reality television days.

This advertisement promotes the brand’s latest Frank’s RedHot flavor combination and features an updated version of the jingle written just for Jessica.

The actress and singer, 45, recalls the notable incident from the 2003 premiere of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica that made her go viral.

In the episode of the hit TV show, Jessica is eating the tuna brand when she famously questioned her then-husband, Nick Lachey, “Is this chicken that I have, or is this fish?”

In the newly released commercial, she begins by singing the jingle, “Ask any mermaid you happen to see, what’s the best chicken?”

She then quickly acknowledges her error, stating, “Wait, that is not correct.”

The crooner then takes a moment to enjoy Chicken of the Sea’s portable tuna packets, which she claims provide her with energy during her hectic schedule.

Simpson subsequently corrects her earlier statement, singing, “What is the best tuna? Chicken of the Sea.”

Jessica expressed her enthusiasm for the project in a recent interview, stating, “I have been a supporter of this brand for over 25 years and greatly appreciate their portable tuna packets, which include the newest flavor with Frank’s RedHot. They serve as a convenient and nutritious snack.”

The reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica aired for three seasons before Jessica and Nick separated.

Their marriage ended in a contentious divorce, with arguments over settlement money.

The Kentucky native went on to marry Vanessa Minillo Lachey, with whom he has had three children.

The couple has famously hosted Love Is Blind since 2020.

Jessica Simpson is the mother of three children: Maxwell, 13; Ace, 12; and Birdie, 6.

She married NFL tight end, Eric Johnson, in 2014.

However, the couple has recently disclosed their separation after nearly ten years of marriage.

This isn’t Jessica’s first tango with the tuna brand.

In 2024, Simpson appeared in another advertisement for Chicken of the Sea alongside her daughter, Maxwell.

The commercial showcased their playful rapport surrounding the brand.

Maxwell inquired, “Mom, what are you consuming from the packet?”

Jessica responded, “It is called Chicken of the Sea, but it’s not really chicken. It’s tuna,” humorously referencing her own past confusion about the product.

“Don’t get confused by it,” she then tells the daughter.

“Who would ever get confused by that?” Maxwell says.

Talking about the original 2003 conversation, Jessica stated, “I’m all about nostalgia.”

“That moment was a very real conversation that … it just became bigger than me. I literally had a question that went viral and still goes viral.”
