A NOUGHTIES X Factor star has been praised for undergoing a vasectomy, saying it’s the “least he can do” after his wife’s four pregnancies.
Eoghan Quigg competed on the singing programme back in 2008, finishing in third place.
These days he can more likely be found spending time with his family – wife Amy, their two children and Amy’s two kids from a previous relationship.
But in a video on his TikTok page, Eoghan, 33, told fans he and Amy are done having babies, so he decided to go ahead with a vasectomy.
He documented parts of the process on the social media site, writing over the top: “I finally got the snip!”
Eoghan then showed himself walking into the hospital for the procedure, which he had on the NHS, before flashing a thumbs up as he left after it was done.

“Newborn Dad Era – completed it mate,” he captioned the video.
And in the comments section he was quickly praised by fans for having the op.
“Well done, wonderful thing to do for your wife!” one wrote.
“100%,” he replied.
“Four pregnancies later, I think I can do a 20 min procedure.”
“Now that’s a man!! Thankyou for looking after the wife properly,” another said.
With Eoghan replying: “Aww thank you! 36 months of pregnancy for a 20min procedure, it’s the least I can do.”
“Need to show hubby this,” a third said.
“Lol all the lads hating on me today,” Eoghan giggled.
“Got it myself, 40 next year no age to be a da,” someone else wrote.
To which Eoghan replied: “That’s it pal. I’m 33 but we’ve four floating about the house!”
He also reassured others considering having the procedure, writing: “Was all good – you get numbed (tiny prick) and then you don’t feel a thing.
What is a vasectomy and what is the success rate?
VASECTOMY is the name given to a minor operation that works to blocks sperm from being ejaculated during sex.
During the surgery, the tubes that carry the fluid from a man’s testicles to the penis are cut, blocked or sealed.
The NHS explains: “This prevents sperm from reaching the seminal fluid (semen), which is ejaculated from the penis during sex.
“There will be no sperm in the semen, so a woman’s egg can’t be fertilised.”
Surprisingly, the life-changing operation can be carried out in just 15 minutes.
The procedure is typically carried out under local anaesthetic, so is often relatively painless.
People that undertake a vasectomy are urged to keep using alternative forms of contraception to protect themselves against sexually transmitted diseases.
The NHS website reveals that the vasectomy is more than 99 per cent effective.
They estimate: “Out of 2,000 men who are sterilised, one will get a woman pregnant during the rest of his lifetime.”
But just like all forms of contraception, there is still a small chance of fertility after the procedure.
“Out in 20mins. Nothing to be worried about honestly.”
“I’m gonna ask the million dollar question…. is it free?” someone else asked.
“With the NHS yes,” Eoghan said.
He returned to TikTok the next day, to share an update on how he was feeling.
But he was noticeably walking strangely, with one person writing: “The John Wayne walk.
“I used to be in hysterics at my hubby for it. Doing it for the team!”
