A WOMAN in her 20s was reportedly sexually assaulted in broad daylight in the middle of a busy city centre, as police release CCTV of a man they wish to speak to.
A man approached the woman and placed his hand near her groin before she managed to push him away and phone the police.
The alleged assault took place on Pelham Street, Nottingham, on December 2 just after 9.30am.
Nottinghamshire Police said the victim has felt very distressed after the alleged attack.
Officers have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to and have asked anyone with information to come foreword.
PC Temeesha Hobbs said: “This incident has understandably caused a great deal of distress for the victim and we are determined to catch the person responsible.
“We have released an image of a man that could help us with our investigation and calling on the public’s help to identify him.
“Do you know the man in the image? Are you the man in the image? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
A spokesperson for the local police said: “Officers have released an image of a man they wish to trace after a woman was subjected to a sexual assault in the city centre.
“The incident happened just after 9.30am on Tuesday 2 December in Pelham Street.
“A man walked towards a woman, in her 20s, and placed his hand near her groin area. She managed to intervene and push his hand away.
“He then left the scene, and she contacted the police.
“Officers have carried out a number of lines of inquiry to find the person responsible but so far, no arrests have been made.
“They have now released an image of a man that could help them further their investigation and are calling on the public’s help to identify him.”
