Diesel weasels
CAR manufacturers are being bullied by the Government into selling more and more electric vehicles — with punitive fines if they do not obey.
Meanwhile, the sale of new petrol and diesel cars is due to be banned altogether by 2030.
It’s all part of Ed Miliband’s obsessive, headlong rush to Net Zero.
Yet, as we report today, one consequence of this zealotry is that — within just four years — working families and tradesmen with older diesel cars or vans could be left with nowhere to fill up.
Station forecourts will have ripped the pumps out and replaced them with electric chargers instead.
Don’t expect Miliband to have any sympathy.

It’s all a price worth paying for him — along with the sky-high cost of energy bills, to help subsidise renewables such as wind and solar power.
Indeed, according to a study by the IEA think tank, his Net Zero drive may end up costing a staggering £9TRILLION.
That’s a hell of a sum to expect the British public to cough up after years of cost of living misery.
Labour shouldn’t be surprised if they pay a heavy price of their own at the ballot box next time around.
Stop the stunts
MINISTERS promised “no more stunts” to stop the boats.
But like so many other Labour pledges, that’s gone out of the window — with the latest Home Office wheeze being the launch of a TikTok channel.
Some bright spark obviously thinks watching a Government video might be the clincher for migrants wondering whether to risk their life and pay thousands of pounds to smugglers.
But the reason they come here is because the odds of staying are hugely in their favour.
And once here, there are benefits to be claimed and illegal jobs to be done.
How about putting an actual deterrent in place before worrying about social media?
School bullies
THE National Education Union presumably likes to think of itself as an inclusive and tolerant organisation.
Yet when it came to Labour MP Damien Egan making a speech at a Bristol school, those principles were binned and they got him banned.
His crime? Being Jewish and showing support for Israel.
To the new fascists of the Far Left, that made him unacceptable to teachers who apparently “may have been inflamed” by his presence.
It’s hard to know what is more sickening:
The disgraceful treatment of a decent Jewish MP or the fact that these militant thugs are able to get jobs teaching our kids.
