SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY boss Henrik Pedersen is begging the EFL to allow the club to sign players to solve their injury crisis.
The Owls currently only have FIVE fit experienced first-team players after keeper Pierce Charles was crocked during the 2-0 FA Cup loss against Brentford.

Dominic Iorfa also pulled out of the game before kick-off with a groin problem as Wednesday’s injury crisis threatens to go out of control.
They join Max Lowe, Di’shon Bernard, Yan Valery, Liam Cooper, Nathaniel Chalobah, Ike Ugbo and Olaf Kobacki among the walking wounded.
Only Liam Palmer, Svante Ingelson, Jamal Lowe, Barry Bannan, Nathan Redmond — which means the rest of the squad is made up of youngsters back from loan or academy players.
Because Wednesday are under transfer embargoes and in administration, the club are permitted just two loan signings before the window closes at the end of the month.
Pederson said: “Yes, we try to knock on the door of the EFL every day.
“Of course, we try to put a bit of pressure on for what we can.
“We need help, and we try to do all that we can to get help as quickly as possible.
“Right now it’s two players, and this is what we are working from, so let’s see.”

SunSport understands that the EFL are in constant dialogue with Wednesday — but have declined to comment on player registrations.
Wednesday have gone TWENTY games without a win and this weekend host Portsmouth, the last team they beat way back in September, winning 2-0 at Fratton Park.
With 18 points deducted — 12 for going into administration and six for failure to pay players on time — the Owls are rock bottom on minus seven points.
That is a whopping 32 points behind fourth bottom Pompey.
The club and fans have written off this season but hoping administrators can conclude a deal with preferred bidders James Bord’s consortium as soon as possible.
Big wigs at the EFL are pouring over the details of that and the new potential owners will have to pass all their fit and proper tests before it can be rubber stamped.
