THE MASKED SINGER fans are convinced Monkey Business is an iconic noughties popstar with a major hit song.
As they tuned into Saturday night’s episode, viewers all thought the character was in fact, chart-topping star Kate Nash.
They flocked to X to share their thoughts as one said: “I think it’s Kate Nash for monkey ngl #MaskedSingerUK.”
Another person expressed: “Certain parts I’m hearing Kate Nash for Monkey Business. Hannah Waddingham links so well with the clues thoooo. #MaskedSingerUK.”
Somebody else speculated: “Ok new theory, Kate Nash came on a playlist and I was like hmmm Monkey Business?
“Now from the clue below she only went and co wrote Poison for Rita Ora! Monkey Business is Kate Nash.”

Yet another wrote: “Locking in now that Monkey Business is the absolute QUEEN that is Kate Nash #MaskedSingerUK.”
While a fifth added: “Monkey Business is definitely Kate Nash #MaskedSingerUK.”
Kate shot to fame back in 2006 and has released five studio albums over her two decade-long career.
Her biggest hit is the song Foundations which charted at number two in the UK singles chart in 2007.
After attempting to diversify her sound from indie pop, Kate was dropped by her record label which led to her releasing her music on her own record label.
Her most recent record, 9 Sad Symphonies was released in 2024.
As well as her own music, she’s also written for other stars, including co-writing Poison for Rita Ora, which went on to become a huge hit.
Last Sunday’s episode saw Tea-Bag eliminated for his performance of Deep Blue Something’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s
He was later revealed to be none other than rapper Professor Green.
The musician, who is known for tracks Just Be Good To Green, I Need You Tonight and Read All About It, grinned as the crowd and judges went wild.
He had attempted to cover up his voice by speaking with a posh accent, and dropping hints that had connections to royalty.
Maya Jama guessed ‘Judge’ Rob Rinder, Mo Gilligan thought it was Richard Osman, Davina thought it was Dan Snow and Jonathan guessed it to be Mike Tindall.
Talking to Joel Dommett after his reveal, he said: “It was nice to be able to hide behind a mask and just be silly for a minute.”
Though he quickly joking that faking a posh accent ‘didn’t make singing any easier’.
He also said that his four-and-a-half year old son is a fan of the show and had no idea he would be on it.
“It’s been so much fun, and I’m really happy that none of you guessed me,” he added.
“He was actually my pal, so I should know!” admitted Maya, who noted she’d spoken to him days before filming.
