It’s an FA Cup third round tie that both sides would have rather avoided.
But probably more so Spurs after another disappointing midweek result and the headlines that have followed since.
Thomas Frank was pictured drinking from an Arsenal-branded paper cup which sums up his rein thus far, while fans and players got into an argument after the 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth.
One win in six games now for Spurs and three defeats in that time has them down in 14th spot, where they appear to be getting similar results to when Ange Postecoglou was in charge and prioritised Europe – just without the exciting, attacking football.
They have home “advantage” despite having won just twice in their last six at home and welcome a Villa side who remain in very decent form.
Their 11-game winning run came to a halt at the Emirates before beating Nottingham Forest at home and then a goalless draw at Crystal Palace in midweek.
Villa also dumped Spurs out of this competition last season, prior to the quarter finals.
They’ve also won the last three times these sides have matched up, including their last visit to this stadium.

Thomas Frank is in a bit of bother at the minute and there’s no reason why that would change here.
Losses to Liverpool and Fulham as well as drawing with Sunderland doesn’t represent good home form in the last five games and Aston Villa’s squad depth will be a challenge for them here.
