ONE lucky punter got their 2026 off to a flyer on Wednesday night, banking a staggering £9,283 accumulator win in the most dramatic of circumstances.

The unnamed Betfair customer staked £15 on a seven-fold Premier League accumulator at colossal odds of 618/1.

The winning slip

Betfair

  • Fulham vs Chelsea – 5/2
  • Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Draw – 2/1
  • Everton vs Wolves Draw – 21/10
  • Bournemouth vs Tottenham – 1/1
  • Brentford vs Sunderland – 5/6
  • Burnley vs Manchester United Draw – 23/10
  • Newcastle vs Leeds – 4/7

Odds: 618/1

Stake: £15

Winnings: £9283.73

Five of the selections came from the 7.30pm kick-offs, with the final two taking place at Turf Moor and Old Trafford at 8.15pm.

Brentford got the bet off to a strong start at odds-on, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win over Sunderland, while Marc Cucurella’s early red card helped Fulham edge a nervy 2-1 victory against their west London rivals.

Everton squandered a one-goal advantage over rock-bottom Wolves but survived two late red cards to clinch a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa played out a goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

The winning run appeared to be over when Bournemouth and Tottenham were locked at 2-2 – until Antoine Semenyo struck in the 95th minute to keep the dream alive.

A 2-2 draw between Burnley and Manchester United left the mystery punter needing Newcastle – the shortest-priced selection in the bet – to complete the remarkable acca.

SACK RACE

Premier League – Next Manager sacked betting odds: Who will be next to leave?

Those hopes seemed dead and buried when Brenden Aaronson fired Leeds into a 3-2 lead in the 79th minute at St James’ Park.

A cash-out may have been tempting at that stage, but the bettor held their nerve – and was rewarded with a wild finale.

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes converted a penalty in the first minute of stoppage time to make it 3-3, seemingly rescuing a point.

But there was one final twist. Harvey Barnes popped up in the 102nd minute to fire home a dramatic winner and seal a £9,283 payday.

Betfair spokesperson James Mackie said: “Wednesday’s Premier League action produced an incredible moment for one Betfair customer, who correctly predicted seven legs in a football accumulator that featured goals in both the 95th and 102nd minute.

“The £15 stake returned £9,283.73, with Harvey Barnes’ last-gasp winner for Newcastle against Leeds bringing the bet home in unforgettable fashion. Congratulations on a remarkable win.”
