LLOYDS and Halifax have announced they will be shutting down 24 of their branches for good this month.
The closure comes as more customers are switching to online banking instead of banking in-person.

The Lloyds Banking Group, which owns Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, has confirmed 71 closures this year.
The firm will shut down 40 Lloyds locations, 14 Halifax sites and 17 Bank of Scotland branches by the end of 2026.
Halifax and Lloyds started closing the first 24 sites in January with five branches already gone.
Lloyds branches in Mitcham and Totnes, and Halifax site in Middleton are closing down today.
A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group previously stated: “The way people are banking has changed, with over 21 million customers choosing apps to manage their money.
“We’re providing more choice than ever before, bringing together the best in digital convenience with our people.
“Alongside our app, our customers can use any Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch, the Post Office or banking hubs for their everyday banking, and deposit cash at over 30,000 PayPoint locations.”
According to the consumer group Which?, over 6,000 banks and building societies across the UK have shut down since January 2015.
Vulnerable Brits who are not tech-savvy can visit one of 178 banking hubs across the UK to withdraw and deposit money, make bill payments or speak to an adviser.
You can also use one of the Post Office’s 11,684 branches to perform basic banking tasks — but not to open new bank accounts or take personal loans and mortgages.
