Would you back Britain’s pubs going on strike over Reeves’ tax raid? VOTE NOW

FURIOUS pub landlords have threatened to go on strike against a brutal tax hike they fear will force many boozers to close up for good.

The threat of action comes in response to Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ business rate increases, set to come into force from April 1.

Now, business owners have threatened a range of protests from strikes to later opening times, to sound the alarm over the average 76 per cent tax increase.

Pub landlord Andy Lennox, who has called for Labour MPs to be banned from boozers over the tax grab, said: “A day of industrial action is coming. This will be a rallying call for the industry.”

As pubs face a devastating blow for business from looming tax hikes, are publicans right to consider striking over the issue?
