AN EX-Labour adviser who backed a councillor charged with child sex crimes faces being humiliated out of a peerage.
The SNP has lodged an early-day motion to stop Matthew Doyle taking his seat on Monday.

Its Westminster leader, Stephen Flynn, branded him “another crony with links to a sex offender”.
He added: “Just as he has been silent on Peter Mandelson’s peerage, Keir Starmer is trying to hide from the public gaze when it comes to his friend Matthew Doyle.”
EDMs are non-binding but can be used to draw attention to an issue.
In 2017, Mr Doyle campaigned for Sean Morton who later admitted having child abuse images.
Mr Doyle has said he regrets his involvement.
He said he knew him through shared acquaintances.
He added that he had “not seen him for years”.
No10 said it had investigated.
A spokeswoman said: “Questions regarding Matthew Doyle’s past acquaintance with Sean Morton were thoroughly investigated.
“This included through several interviews with Matthew Doyle, prior to his appointment.”
