Corriedale stars reveal bloodied faces in behind-the-scenes snaps ahead of epic soap crossover

CORRIEDALE is just hours away and things look set to get bloody for fan favourites according to new behind-the-scenes pics.

Coronation Street and Emmerdale are set to catastrophically – and literally – collide on Monday night’s ‘Corriedale’ special, with a massive car pile-up threatening the lives of dozens of characters from both soaps.

It’s already been confirmed that more than one character is set to die in the fray.

And it looks like even those who survive will suffer plenty of injuries if these new making-of pics are anything to go by – even though the actors look like they’re heaving a blast as they shoot.

Filming in the dead of night, the cast are seen wrapped up in warm blue and red dry robes with bloodied faces, but beaming for the cameras in between scenes.

Natalie Robb, who plays Moira Dingle on Emmerdale, is seen beaming in a blue robe as she cuddles up Corrie’s Carla Connor actress Alison King in one shot.

In another she joins co-star Danny Miller (Aaron Dingle) for a snuggly shot with the cobbles’ Jack P Shephard (David Platt) and Julia Goulding (Shona Platt).

Far from his usual gruff on-screen persona Cain Dingle, actor Jeff Hordley was also seen beaming in another picture as he threw his arms around his fellow co-stars.

Shot on location in October, Corriedale promises to change both soaps forever.

Across the episode, multiple plotlines are set to come to a head as a drunken Carl (Jonathan Howard) takes off from Debbie Webster’s wedding with the bride in the car.

In between Hotton and Weatherfield, a massive car crash will leave several lives in the balance, especially when a minibus carrying wedding guests – including David, pregnant Shona, Steve, and Tracy heads towards the crash with Billy at the wheel.

Elsewhere, the long-standing love triangle between Aaron, Robert, and the vengeful John Sugden is set to reach a head, while o

Hot on their heels, Kit and Carla arrive to save lives and pursue fugitives, while Cain and Moira’s simple trip to take Jacob and Sarah to the airport is ruined by Mack, in his car with Charity, flashing his lights.

The one-hour special Corriedale episode will air at 8pm, following a regular episode of Emmerdale which will air at 7pm, followed by a 30 minute edition of Corrie.

The special marks the launch of ITV’s new soap ‘power hour’ with both shows airing five 30-minute episodes a week from Tuesday onwards.

Emmerdale will make a permanent move to 8pm, while Coronation Street will follow at 8.30pm each night.

It means the shows will have one less episode a week compared to their current output.
