Boy, 16, dies after car crashed into teen while he walked across road as cops arrest 18-year-old

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has died in a horror crash after being hit by a car as he walked across the road.

Cops and emergency services rushed to scene at Kingsway in Burnage, Manchester, at around 6.40pm on Friday, January 2.

The teenage pedestrian was hit by a Seat Ibiza and suffered serious injuries.

The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital, but sadly died from his wounds, said Greater Manchester Police.

Cops arrested an 18-year-old man but he has since been released on bail whilst enquiries are ongoing.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

This includes anyone who witnessed the incident or have CCTV or dashcam footage.
