THE Masked Singer continued their lead singer twist – with this famous face appearing on stage as Emperor Penguin.
For the first two episodes, Joel Dommett has been joined on stage by a “Lead Singer” – who introduced the show with a song under one of the iconic masks.
After the main performers sang to the judges, Emperor Penguin was revealed as a special guest for the panel.
This time around, after multiple guesses, it was revealed to be comedian Matt Lucas.
Speaking after their big reveal, he said: “It was very very hot indeed” underneath the mask.
Much like the main competition, clues were dropped in throughout the episode to help fans guess who the star was.

However, this star has a different task – and after their big reveal joined the panel to help them with their elimination.
Tonight, Emperor Penguin opened the show with Pinball Wizard, with clues pointing towards a ‘Wet Paint’ sign, white birds and a reference to Gladiators.
After his reveal, Matt went on to explain that he played Master of Ceremonies in Gladiator 2, and the bird was a reference to the ‘dove from above’ from 90s panel show, Shooting Stars.
While Davina McCall guessed it was Gladiators star Bradley Walsh, while Mo Gilligan was convinced it was Peter Andre.
Jonathan Ross guessed it was Sir Trevor McDonald.
After his unmasking, Matt declared the judge’s efforts “poor” – but fans were loving hearing Matt perform.
Taking to X, one fan admitted they were stumped too, saying: “I’m actually gobsmacked that Matt Lucas was Penguin! Haha. Well done.”
“did not see that one! Well done sir…what a voice” added another alongside a string of clapping emojis.
“Im shocked Matt Lucas was Emperor Penguin i didnt even think of him hes got some good pipes on him” noted a third.
Matt follows in the footsteps of Goldfish, who was the first lead singer of this year’s series and was revealed to be Anne-Marie.
While on the panel, she helped uncover Alex Jones from The One Show, who was revealed to be behind Disk Jockey.
The Masked Singer continues next Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
