Frantic hunt for man who mysteriously vanished from Heathrow hotel ‘without his belongings’ after cancelling trip abroad

POLICE have launched a desperate hunt for a man who mysteriously vanished from a hotel near Heathrow after cancelling his trip abroad.

Mark Thompson was last seen on December 21 but was not reported missing until six days later.

The 55-year-old is believed to have travelled to Heathrow Airport ahead of a planned trip the following day.

But Suffolk Police believe Mark cancelled the holiday then checked out of his hotel two days later on December 23.

According to a friend on Facebook, he left all his belongings at the Hilton near Terminal Four.

Officers have now launched a frantic search for Mark, who is understood to be a tour guide.

He has been described as white, 5ft 7ins, medium build, bald and a glasses wearer.

He was last seen wearing a dark green tracksuit top, dark green trousers, a blue North Face jacket and white trainers.

Appealing for information on social media, one friend said his disappearance is “out of character”.

He added: “After today’s update from police, mark has left all his belongings at the hotel he was staying at.. he extended the hotel stay for 4extra days but never returned back to the hotel.

“We believe he may still be in the London area, and ask people everywhere especially London to please keep an eye out for this gentle soul.

“If you come across him police contact police, and give them his whereabouts so we can get him the help and love and support he needs.”
