PUTIN’S “unstoppable missile”, with the capability to hit London in eight minutes, has been seen deployed in Belarus.
The nuclear-capable Oreshnik missile is touted as being fast and powerful enough to evade any Western missile defence and hit targets anywhere in Europe.
An Oreshnik launch from Belarus could hit London in eight minutes, Moscow sources say.
Troops in Belarus held a brief ceremony to mark the occasion, Russia‘s Ministry of Defence said Tuesday.
It did not say how many missiles had been deployed or give any other details.
The missile first saw action in Ukraine in November last year – Putin bragged that just a few strikes could inflict destruction on par with a nuclear attack.
It is thought the hypersonic missiles are likely being deployed by Russia in eastern Belarus near the city of Krychaw, as reported by Reuters.
American researchers said they were “90 percent confident” the Oreshnik launchers were based at a former air base about 307 km east of Minsk and 478 km southwest of Moscow.
Belarus’ dictator Alexander Lukashenko, 71, boasted that Oreshnik will “make him strong” but in fact its use remains under Putin’s control.
Putin claims targets are incinerated by conventional Oreshnik missiles unleashing a temperature of 4,000C, almost as hot as the surface of the sun, but the weapon is also nuclear capable.
An Oreshnik launch from Belarus could hit London in eight minutes, far shorter than the time it would take from its earlier launch site in Kapustin Yar in southern Russia, according to Moscow sources.
It comes as peace talks hang by a thread following Russia’s threat to kill Volodymyr Zelensky and put his body on public display.
