Pregnant Paloma Faith says leaving her husband Leyman Lahcine was ‘the best choice’ she ever made.
The singer, 44, married Leyman in 2017, welcoming two children with the French artist before confirming they had parted ways in 2022, leaving the hitmaker to suffer from a nervous breakdown.
But speaking on her Mad, Sad and Bad podcast, the Celebrity Traitors star explained that her relationship with Leyman is better now that she has split from him.
She said: ‘Women feel like it’s their duty to stay and suffer for their kids. I think the relationship with my children’s dad that I got out of is amazing now.
‘Maybe in choosing to get out of the relationship in the romantic sense and into a relationship with him as a friendship and a co-parent was the best choice I ever made in hindsight because I think our relationship is better because of it ‘
Paloma previously shared the reason for her breakup from Leyman was the pressure of having two daughters.

The couple split in 2022 and welcomed their first daughter in December 2016, followed by their second in February 2021.
Speaking previously to Jamie on his podcast Great Company in November, Paloma opened up about navigating the split as co-parents and her ‘heartbreak album’.
‘I think this is ongoing navigation because we have children together,’ she said.
‘And that’s what makes this a different type of heartbreak album.
‘The heartbreak will be forever and the navigation of our relationship changing shape will be forever, probably until we die.’
Explaining how heartbreak differs when you have children, Paloma said: ‘Some people sort of, you know, just because you don’t see them, some people never speak again.
‘And they’re still very present because you look at your kids and you see that person in your kids, or they come back from visiting your ex-partner and they’re doing the mannerisms or they’ve got opinions that you don’t agree with it or their opinions or whatever.’
Now she has finally found happiness with her boyfriend, Stevie Thomas, after the singer announced they were expecting their first child together in October.

They told The Sun: ‘It’s sexy and exciting, but he’s also very in touch with his feelings and a great communicator. It’s like they are kindred spirits and they’re in it for the long term.’
