Evans’ headloss reached its peak in the third leg of set six as his second dart deflected off of his first and flew away from the board and landed on the floor.

The 35-year-old flailed his arms in the air before running up to the board and joking that the dart was in as he pointed at it.

He then returned to throw his final dart of the trio.

But as he did so, darts referee Huw Ware was left stunned by the antics.

A third added: “I’d have dropped Ricky on stage if I was him. Embarrassment.”

A fourth said: “I’ve never seen someone throw £60k away so easily. Head absolutely went.”

After the game Evans was branded “unprofessional” by Sky Sports commentator Wayne Mardle.

The fan favourite commentator said: “What has to be said is that Ricky Evans at the end, it was just unprofessional.

“You don’t give up like that and he gave up.

“He won’t sleep well after reacting the way he did.

“You just can’t do it.”

By beating Evans, Manby has landed himself a fourth-round tie against Gian van Veen.

A place in the quarter finals and £100,000 is on the line.
