Some UK shops were even stocking for Easter even before Christmas.

In Birmingham, Dr Helen Ingram, who has almost 40,000 followers on social media, shared photos of her nearby supermarket filled with rows of Easter eggs.

She wrote: “There are Easter eggs in my local supermarket. December 27.”

This sparked a fierce online debate with her followers, with one even branding the display as “absolutely criminal.”

A second user wrote: “I detest this.

“Sick to death of commercialism ruining our celebrations with their overt promotions, which destroy any kind of sacredness attached to the events.”

A third user added: “Because what the nation needs right now is more, if slightly different, chocolate.”

Another said: “Could whoever has the remote please stop hitting the fast forward button.”

Another user wrote: “Fourteen weeks today is Easter Eve…”

Recently, Poundland shops across the UK were seen stocking eggs as early as Christmas Eve, which some branded as “ridiculous”.

When asked about the Easter eggs in store, a representative said to the Mirror: “Some stores have started to give a sneak peek into what’s coming in 2026, but they are also still stocked full of Christmas goodies too.

“To be honest, it’s never too early for a Creme Egg.”

Morrisons and Poundland are not the only supermarkets to be stocking easter eggs in store.

B&M were also spotted selling Easter eggs, which caused major backlash online.

One angry shopper said: “Ridiculous, no,no,no…too early.”

While another branded the move as “pathetic,” and a third said it was “disgusting”.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Wtf its not even been the new year yet, go away.”
