Two helicopters collided midair and crashed near an airport in New Jersey, leaving at least one dead.
The horror crash took place Sunday morning near Hammonton Municipal Airport just before 12pm.
One person has been confirmed to have died as a result of the crash, according to 6ABC.
Eyewitness footage posted on social media from a nearby Tractor Supply parking lot shows thick black smoke rising over the crash site.
Another clip captured a helicopter spinning out of control before slamming into the ground.
Hammonton Fire Department confirmed it responded to an ‘aviation-related incident’ near Basin Road.
Officials have asked residents to avoid the area at this time and have not released details on how many people were involved.
The cause of the collision remains unknown. The Daily Mail has contacted Hammonton Police Department for further details.
