She was at her home in Saint-Tropez when she was suddenly rushed to a hospital in nearby Toulon.

It is understood that the actress was recovering from her surgery.

She was one of the most famous figures in the Sexual Revolution of the Post War period.

Bardot was known for portraying characters with hedonistic and tragic lifestyles.

In the British and US press she was nicknamed the “sex kitten”.

She also sang and modelled in her youth, while she became an animal rights advocate in later life.

Bardot was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1984.

She refused to undergo chemotherapy treatment and decided only to do radiation therapy.

The legendary actress recovered in 1986.

Bardot made her debut in the world of film in 1952 in the film The Girl In The Bikini.

Following this breakout role, she became one of the most famous stars of that era.

Brigitte ended her film career in 1973 so she could dedicate herself to her animal rights charity.

However, throughout her career, she was known for being provocative and catching people’s attention.

In 1953, Brigitte famously frolicked on the beach in a skimpy bikini at the Cannes Film Festival.
