Man, 37, dies after ‘assault’ in residential street in major UK city

A MAN has died following an alleged assault in Cardiff on Monday.

Cops have confirmed the victim, Colm Marcus Boston, 37, from Heath, died on December 26.

South Wales Police were called to a report of an assault in Pentyrch Street, Cathays, at around 6.15pm on Monday, December 22.

Three men were arrested as part of the investigation.

A 51-year-old man from Mynachdy remains in custody while a 47-year-old man from Adamsdown and a 60-year-old man from Cathays have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Colm was left in a critical condition after the alleged assault, and he later died of his injuries at the University Hospital of Wales.

His family are being supported by a family liaison officer.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Lauren Wells, of South Wales Police, said: “Our heartfelt condolences are with Colm’s family and friends as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

“I would like to thank the community for the support they have provided to this investigation to date and continue to urge anyone with information who is yet to speak to officers to come forward.”

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV and/or dash-cam footage from Maindy Road, Pentyrch Street, Whitchurch Road, and Cathays Terrace, from between 4pm and 6.30pm on Monday, December 22.
