Strictly star Steve Backshall stuns fans as he transforms family mansion into incredible assault course for his kids

WHILE some families are tidying away their kids’ Christmas toys, Steve Backshall has been busy transforming his home into an assault course for his brood.

From monkey bar hoops to a climbing frame across the ceiling, the Strictly Come Dancing star took inspiration from the Ninja Warrior course to pull out all the stops this Christmas.

Steve, who shares son Logan, seven, and five-year-old twins Willow and Kit with Olympic rower Helen Glover, took to Instagram to show off their home’s assault course transformation.

Taking a video, his daughter Willow could be seen swinging through the living room on monkey hoops before Logan climbed across his bedroom walls.

In the post, Steve revealed that he had set the children a task of getting from their beds to the breakfast table without touching the floor.

He wrote: “A Swinging festive season… with the help of my willing paddle pals and a few chunks of two by four we transformed our house into an assault course.

A giant skull sat in eldest Logan’s bedroom alongside his new climbing frame, with Steve giving a special thanks to the brand who had provided it.

He added: “Ps a huge thanks to Big Ben of dinomania for Logan’s carnotaurus skull!!!! #Dinomania #ninjawarrioruk #ninja #assaultcourse #hangtough”.

Celebs took to the comment section to share how impressed they were with the set-up, as Carol Vorderman wrote: “Incredible”.

This Morning’s Alison Hammond added: “Omg I need this”.

Known for being a naturalist and explorer, it’s no surprise that Steve is more than happy for his children to get a taste of the outdoors from inside of their Berkshire abode.

Steve has been married to Helen – who is famed for being a two-time Olympic champion and a member of the Great Britain Rowing Team – since 2016.

She has far from slowed down since having little ones with Steve, and claimed a Silver medal in last year’s Paris Olympics.

Meanwhile, Steve appeared on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2014 and was partnered with Ola Jordan.

He was the eighth celebrity to get voted out of the BBC competition.
