NOTTINGHAM FOREST striker Chris Wood has revealed that he will be sidelined for a lengthy period after undergoing surgery.
The 34-year-old has not played since October due to a knee injury, with his last appearance coming in a 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the City Ground.

While a return date was not initially given, he is now expected to be unavailable for a number of months.
Wood underwent surgery on the issue this week and is now on the road to recovery.
Taking to Instagram to share the update, he said: “The Christmas I didn’t expect, you can never know what football throws at you.
“From the highs of last season to now the battles and the lows personally of this season. You have to be ready for anything.
“Truly gutting and frustrating that I’ll be on the side line for another period of time.
“It’s what’s needed to come back stronger and better to help my team mates do the job needed in the prem and in Europe.
“Thanks to everyone that’s helped with this. Lot of people have gone out there way over the Xmas period to help my recovery.
“Most importantly to our doctor and medical team. As well as the players, staff and the NFFC family.

Wood had scored three goals in nine appearances for Nottingham Forest before suffering his injury.
He announced his latest setback just hours before the club suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at home.
Tijjani Reijnders broke the deadlock just a few minutes after half-time with a composed strike.
Omari Hutchinson then capitalised on a brilliant Forest counter-attack to level things up.
But man-of-the-match Rayan Cherki sealed all three points with just seven minutes of normal time left to play.
