I’m 38 and just gave birth to my first child with my gay husband but people keep mistaking me for his grandmother

A WOMAN who gave birth to her first child aged 38 has hit back at people mistaking her for his grandmother.

Samantha Greenstone and her gay husband Jacob Hoff became first-time parents when she gave birth last month – the latest stage in their unique love story.

A smiling woman with blonde hair wearing a green sweater points her finger at the viewer.

And in a video on her TikTok page, Samantha admitted that being an older mum has its disadvantages, such as people assuming she’s her baby’s granny, rather than his mum.

However, she insisted that due to having a “great sense of humour”, she can “handle” the case of mistaken identity.

“First of all, I haven’t had Botox in over a year because I didn’t get it while I was pregnant and I’m not getting it while I’m breastfeeding,” she said.

And the second reason she may look older than her age is because she had to have a blood transfusion, which left her looking ghostly pale, like “old Rose in Titanic”.

COKE HELL

I was a pregnant cocaine addict – cash for my son’s Xmas gifts was spent on drug

BABY FACE

I fell pregnant at 13 now I’m a mum-of-2 at 20 – teachers think I’m STILL a teen

So Samantha was thrilled to have been sent a PR package of products from Martha Stewart’s new skincare line.

“Hopefully after using this, I’ll start to look like my son’s mother and not his grandmother,” she joked.

Samantha and Jacob fell pregnant naturally, thanks to being in a happy, intimate relationship – despite their different sexual preferences.

Insisting they didn’t go down the IVF route, Jacob told MailOnline that they “did it the birds and the bees way”.

“We made love and it was lovely. We make love because we are in love,” Samantha added.

The couple, who describe their relationship as “mixed-orientation”, met while auditioning for a theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof.

To prove his love for her, in December 2023, Jacob got down on one knee and popped the question at the entrance to the Beverly Hills Hotel.

In November 2024, they tied the knot in Florida during a traditional Jewish ceremony, where they were joined by 34 guests.

Many people have confused their relationship with a “Lavender Marriage“, a term used to describe one or two people from the LGBTQ+ community who marry for the safety or convenience of appearing to be heterosexual.

But the pair insist that it doesn’t apply to them.

He told Business Insider: “I’m 100% fulfilled by our marriage. So to say we’re in a ‘lavender marriage,’ I think, takes away what this really is, which is just people who love each other for who they are and not what they are,”

“A lavender marriage feels like a marriage of convenience versus a marriage of just true pure love like ours.”

Here’s why I love being a young mum

Tracy Kiss, who fell pregnant at 19, has revealed what she believes are the pros of being a young mother.

The personal trainer and blogger, from Buckinghamshire, believes women who give birth in their teens make BETTER mothers than those in their 30s.

She claims young mums snap back into shape quicker, have more energy and relate more easily to their children, meaning they’re better behaved and happier.

Tracy told Fabulous: “Women who become first-time mums in their teens make better parents than those in their 30s or 40s.

“I believe if I’d been 10 or so years older before becoming a mother then I wouldn’t have the relationship I have with my children now.

“For a start, being older I would have had less energy and therefore less patience.

“I wouldn’t be as enthusiastic to speak to people after months of sleepless nights as I was in my teens.

“My body snapped back to its pre-pregnancy size through fitness post-birth, which in turn gave me the confidence to date and find love again. I’ve never been happier than I am now at the age of 30 with two children.

“If I’d have been alone at 40 with a newborn baby I’d be more tired, less happy with my body, less energetic and far more stressed from the shock of living my life for myself instead of putting others first. Sometimes age and the innocence of ignorance is a good thing.

“As a teen mum I just got on with it, found my feet and became responsible and capable because at the time I didn’t know any different.”

In the comments section of Samantha’s TikTok video, the majority of people insisted she didn’t look old enough to be mistaken for a grandmother.

“People are ridiculous. You look stunning!” one wrote.

“Keep in mind people become grandmothers at 36 and also mothers at 36,” another added.

“Please don’t let other opinions affect you! You’re beautiful and wonderful!”

“Because grandmas are getting younger,” a third pointed out.
