The way bargain hunters are nabbing Charlotte Tilbury & Prada for a ‘fraction of the price’ & the key phrase to remember

IT’S the best time of year for nabbing a bargain.

But you don’t have to waste hours queueing up at your favourite shops on dark December mornings trying to get your hands on discounted buys.

Instead, there’s a way you can bag a bargain from the comfort of your own home, as savvy shopper Georgia explained in a video on her TikTok page.

She showed how successful the hack is on Boxing Day, as she typed in “unwanted Christmas gifts” into the search bar on Vinted.

“People are selling Charlotte Tilbury, White Fox, Prada, Gucci, you name it, it’s on there,” she said, showing the packed homepage on her Vinted.

“It’s on there for a fraction of the price, because people don’t want the gifts and they just don’t want to tell you they didn’t want it.”

However, Georgia showed herself taking full advantage of ungrateful gift receivers as she popped more and more into her basket, and adding: “I will be getting them today!”

“Who doesn’t love Boxing Day sales?” she added in the video caption.

In fact, Vinted is already encouraging people to pop unwanted gifts online to sell, with messages popping up on phones reading: “Won’t use that gift?

“Sell what you don’t need to someone who’ll love it. List now!”

And people were quick to thank Georgia for sharing the clever hack, with one writing in the comments on the TikTok video: “Running there I am!”

“So clever,” another added.

“I’ll be doing an mass upload tomorrow,” a third commented.

“People are quick,” someone else pointed out.

“Thanks for the hack,” another added.

“Got loads of skincare and beauty bits,” someone else boasted.

“Plenty of Baylis and Harding,” another wrote.

However, others said it’s important to “watch out for fakes”.

What photos you should upload

High-quality and clear images will help your items stand out on Vinted amongst a vast array of items available on the platform

Here are the five essential shots The Sun’s Rose O’Sullivan includes:

  • Picture one: A clear shot of the front of the dress, gym set, trousers, etc
  • Picture two: The back of the outfit
  • Picture three: Photograph sleeve or pant length
  • Picture four: Close-up of the stitching, or if any flaws on the item include zoomed-in shots of this too
  • Picture five: If they are trousers, take pictures of lining, zips or buckles

“It is unfortunately difficult to spot – I would just not spend too much money on there to be safe,” someone else said.

Despite the post Christmas period being a perfect time to nab bargains, January is another popular time for stocking up on discounted buys.

Brands will often slash prices to clear Christmas stock and make room for the new year.

Most online sales are already in full swing.
