PEP GUARDIOLA could hit the January sales again — with Antoine Semenyo believed to be on his shopping list.
Manchester City are favourites to land the Bournemouth winger, who has a £65million release clause.
Pep was always reluctant to spend money in the winter but then lavished £174.2m on five new signings at the start of the year.
And with his team heading into 2026 with a Quadruple in their sights, Guardiola could be tempted to get out the chequebook again.
The City boss said: “Last season, I could never expect to go into the transfer window and buy four or five players.
“But we had a lot of players injured. This year it is open and anything can happen.”
Semenyo’s release clause is active for the first few days of next month.
City could face competition from Liverpool for the Ghana international, who turns 26 on January 7.
Guardiola knows he will need a deep squad if City are to keep pushing over the coming months.
The former Barcelona boss added: “It is going well but it’s still only the end of December.

“In the Champions League we are up there, in the Premier League we are up there, we have the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup soon.
“Some important players are coming back, so let’s go step by step and see what is going to happen.”
One player inching his way into contention is Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
The Spain international, 29, missed almost all of last season with a serious knee injury.
He picked up a hamstring injury in early October and has made one brief cameo since then.
City are determined to be cautious with him but Guardiola revealed his midfield linchpin is in the frame for the trip to Nottingham Forest today.
He said: “Rodri is much, much better. We’ll decide whether he’s available.”
